Dietary Rules

Most of this information is from Wanda Boone’s classes on nutrition and wellness. Check her website, www.wandasinfo.com, to learn more. To motivate yourself to make a shift, I encourage you to have a “live blood analysis” with her to see how your current lifestyle and dietary habits are affecting your blood—your life.

If you look at the human body as a furnace and food as the fuel, you will gain a better understanding of the following guidelines. The main concern is the ash (or waste) that is left in the body once the food is burned for fuel. The more alkaline the ash, the more life enhancing the fuel—the more acidic the ash, the more disease is created. If your body’s pH level is too acidic for more than 3-4 hours you will die. In order to survive, your body is forced to leach calcium from your bones to neutralize its pH level. The key to a vibrant life is to avoid acid-forming foods and flood your body with nutrient dense whole foods.

With this information in mind, please look over these guidelines and start making small forward steps toward healthier habits. As you intend to be healthier, your body will guide you and support your choices. Over the next few years expect to continually improve your dietary choices. Make the best choices you can, energetically; though don’t beat yourself up when you don’t. If you are going to have junk food, at least enjoy it without guilt—just get back on track as soon as possible.

I recommend you affirm “my body is only absorbing healthy substances and excreting the rest” AND I recommend you strive for ideal nutrition to support yourself as you raise your body’s vibration and consciousness.

Try to eat your foods as close as possible to the way they grow in nature. Choose foods (fresh vegetable, whole fruits, whole grains, legume, nuts* and seeds) to eat in the following order of preference:

  • Fresh, whole and raw.
  • Dried beans, peas, and fruit if not processed. Sprouted lentils are exceptionally nutritious.
  • Frozen (flash frozen is best).

*Nuts & seeds should be bought raw and soaked in distilled water or placed in a 350 degree oven for 5-8 minutes to activate the dormant enzymes before eating. Best nuts: walnuts, pecans, almond; best seeds: pumpkin, sesame, sunflower.

Most foods that fall in the above categories leave an alkaline ash (health enhancing) in the body, the foods listed below leave an acidic ash (health depleting).

Canned is NOT recommended, but if you must, home canned is preferred to commercial.  Certain substances are not compatible to good health and should be eliminated from any diet designed to promote good health. Look at the following list—if you are consuming these on a regular basis, consider if this is a good time to either replace them with health enhancing, whole food alternatives or cut back.

  1. All carbonated beverages including sparkling water. It takes 32 oz of water to neutralize the acid in one soda or calcium will be leached out of bones to do so. Also, carbonated beverages kill friendly bacteria.
  2. Coffee--one cup of organic decaf a day is acceptable unless your condition is critical.
  3. Refined, white flour—look for stone ground, whole grain, or sprouted grain (Ezekiel brand).
  4. Refined sugar--consider Turbinado; raw organic honey; raw, organic clear agave nectar; or stevia.
  5. Alcohol, even red wine. It turns to sugar, all sugar feeds candida (yeast/fungal overgrowth) which weakens the immune system.
  6. Black teas--cause you to lose water, most herbal teas are fine.
  7. All dairy, ice cream. Consider rice products. More calcium is leached from the bones to neutralize dairy products than is gained from eating dairy. Our bodies do not digest dairy after age 2. Even the friendly bacteria in yogurt are destroyed through pasteurization.
  8. Chocolate. Instead use organic, raw cacao powder to prepare desserts and use agave sugar. Check the internet for recipes.
  9. Black pepper. Use cayenne or other chili peppers.
  10. Table salt. Order Himalayan salt –containing over 72 minerals, it becomes a mineral supplement. Call 1-877-769-3795 or go to www.powerorganics.com.
  11. Trans fatty acids and hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils & saturated fats.
  12. Artificial sweeteners.
  13. If you feel you must eat meat, eat only “clean” meats from grass fed animals and without added drugs and hormones, and NEVER eat meat fried. Eat small portions (no more than 3-5oz. at a time) and never from a can. Eating five times the amount of meat in greens/vegetables helps offset the acidic ash. Eating “white foods” with meat (bread, pasta, white rice, white potatoes, etc.) creates a glue-like effect on the small intestine villi which diminishes digestion. It is best on your health to avoid meats and white foods or at least, for better digestion, eat them separately.

Healthier options:

  • Fish—fresh salmon (not farm raised) or other cold water fish.
  • Fowl—fresh pheasant, free range chicken or turkey, quail.
  • Red Meat—that is NOT commercially raised.
  • Avoid Pork, Shrimp, Crab, Lobster, Oysters and other scavenger or carnivorous animals.
